Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

The branch offers a variety of ICT courses, available as short courses or under the regular program mode. Diploma courses result in certificates awarded by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), while other courses receive internal institute certificates. Offerings include:

Civil Engineering

Driver Training School

Training at the school operates on a full-time basis, spanning a continuous period of 4 weeks. Certificates for driving and first aid courses are internally awarded, while driving licenses are issued by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles and the Transport Licensing Board via the Kenya Revenue Authority. The school provides the following short courses:

  • Basic Motor Vehicle Driver Training
  • Basic Motorcycle Riding
  • Refresher Driving Courses (for existing drivers)
  • Defensive Driving Courses (for existing drivers)
  • First Aid Course

Electrical and Electronics

All diploma courses are conducted on a full-time basis for 3 years. The branch offers specialized programs in:

  • Construction Plant Option (Repair & Maintenance of Earth Moving Equipment/Construction Machines)
  • Industrial Plant (Repair & Maintenance of Industrial Machines/Equipment)
  • Automotive Engineering (Repair & Maintenance of Motor Vehicles)

Building and Construction

The Building Branch at KIHBT provides a range of programs to train individuals for the infrastructure sector:

Internally certified short and tailor-made Capacity Building Courses:

  • Building Supervisors
  • Contract Management
  • Safety in Construction Sites
  • Occupational Health Safety and Environment
  • Skills improvement courses in plumbing, painting, masonry, and carpentry/joinery.

Regular Diploma and Craft Courses, KNEC and NITA examined:
